To cultivate knowledge sharing and dialogue, the LKYWCP Network secretariat facilitates knowledge creation and sharing through research collaborations, international panel of experts, and lectures with its members. The LKYWCP Network also supports member-led initiatives to engender a spirit of collaboration and partnership amongst cities.

World Cities Summit 2026, Singapore

From 14 to 16 June 2026, the 10th edition of the World Cities Summit ↗ (opens in new tab) will be held in Singapore. This 3-day event comprises the main conference and other key events such as the Mayors Forum, WCS Young Leaders Symposium, the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize and Network, the Science of Cities Symposium, and an exhibition. The theme for WCS 2026 is Liveable and Sustainable Cities: ACT Now!

London Climate Action Week 2026, London (June 2026)

From 20 to 26 June 2026, during London Climate Action Week 2026, CLC engaged mayors, public sector officials and knowledge institutions across London to deepen understanding of the city's urban development priorities and planning approaches. Key engagements included discussions with the Greater London Authority, including senior officials such as Jeremy Skinner and Rupinder Pahar (GLA), as well as a study visit to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to learn about London's regeneration and placemaking strategies.

CLC also strengthened ties with leading knowledge partners, including the London School of Economics, University College London and the Dementia Services Development Centre, fostering opportunities for future collaboration, research and exchange with the 2026 Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize Laureate and the wider United Kingdom urban ecosystem.

LKYWCP Network Knowledge Forum at World Cities Summit 2026, Singapore (June 2026)

On 15 Jun 2026, at WCS2026, the LKYWCP Network Knowledge Forum brought together city leaders and urban practitioners to exchange insights on how collaboration can accelerate urban transformation and address shared challenges. It also welcomed new members to the Network, reaffirming the community’s commitment to peer learning, knowledge exchange and long-term city-to-city collaboration.

Through two panel discussions on Transformation Through Collaboration and Acceleration Through Collaboration, the panellists from nine cities underscored the importance of trusted city-to-city partnerships in addressing shared urban challenges and advancing sustainable urban transformation.

LKYWCP Network Mayoral Fellowship at World Cities Summit 2026, Singapore (June 2026)

At WCS2026, Singapore’s Prime Minister, Mr Lawrence Wong officially announced the Mayoral Fellowship, a flagship programme under the LKYWCP Network, which extends opportunities for learning and exchange to a select group of city leaders beyond LKYWCP-awarded cities. The inaugural cohort brought together four Mayoral Fellows from Agra, Bucharest, Kigali, and Tshwane, and two Visiting Fellows, former Mayor of Paris Ms Anne Hidalgo and former Mayor of Helsinki, Mr Jan Vapaavuori, for a bespoke programme alongside their participation in the wider World Cities Summit.

Through leadership dialogues, expert presentations and agency-hosted site visits by URA, JTC, LTA and HDB, the Fellows gained first-hand insights into Singapore’s urban development journey and exchanged perspectives with Singapore’s leaders and urban practitioners. The programme culminated with a Fireside Chat and Reflections Session, where the cohort exchanged perspectives on the realities of city leadership and reflected on key takeaways from the Fellowship and WCS 2026. These exchanges set the stage for continued peer learning, collaboration and relationship-building over the Fellowship cycle.

LKYWCP Network Research Fellowship at World Cities Summit 2026, Singapore (June 2026)

The Research Fellowship is one of the LKYWCP Network's flagship programmes, designed to advance urban problem-solving through structured, multilateral research. Unlike bilateral exchanges, comparative research across three or more cities produces findings that have been stress-tested across different contexts, separating what is locally contingent from what is broadly applicable, and refining city-level experience into transferable principles. In this way, the Research Fellowship creates a multiplier effect, where each city's enhanced research capability contributes to a growing body of global urban knowledge.

Network members collectively identified Mobility and Housing as the two themes for the inaugural Cycle 1 of the Research Fellowship:  

• Mobility: Antwerp (University of Antwerp), Brisbane (Committee for Brisbane), and New York City (Regional Plan Association) 

• Housing: Copenhagen (BLOXHUB), Hamburg (HafenCity University), and Melbourne (Centre for Cities)

At the World Cities Summit 2026, cities participating in the inaugural cycle came together in person for the first time to formally launch the Research Fellowship. Representatives from Antwerp, Brisbane, New York City, Copenhagen, Hamburg, and Melbourne gathered for the Research Fellowship Masterclass, marking the beginning of their collaborative journey and sharing early perspectives on advancing active mobility and affordable housing in their respective cities.

3rd G-NETS Leaders Summit, Tokyo

From 27 to 29 April 2026, at the invitation of Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Centre for Liveable Cities will participate in the 3rd G-NETS Leaders Summit and Tokyo SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026.

28th Executive Development & Growth Exchange Programme, Mexico City

In April 2026, as part of the 28th Executive Development & Growth Exchange (EDGE) programme, young Singapore public service officers will visit Mexico City to study the city's urban transformation, drawing lessons from their urban planning, green infrastructure expansion and inclusive development initiatives.

Knowledge Exchange with Ahmedabad Senior City Officials

On 27 February 2026, CLC met with Ahmedabad city officials to learn more about the further advances the city has made, particularly the revitalisation of the Sabarmati Riverfront and heritage areas within the Walled City.

Asia Smart Cities Conference 2025, Yokohama

From 25 to 27 November 2025, at the invitation Yokohama City Hall, CLC participated in the Asia Smart Cities Conference (ASCC) 2025 and met with Mayor of Yokohama to strengthen collaboration within the LKYWCP Network.

C40 World Mayors Summit 2025, Rio de Janeiro

From 3 to 6 November 2025, CLC participated in the C40 World Mayors Summit. At the summit, CLC onboarded Melbourne to the LKYWCP Network and moderated the session on “Climate and Health”, with Lord Mayor of Melbourne as a fellow panellist. CLC also paid a hosted visit to the Rio de Janeiro’s Knowledge Organisation Instituto Pereira Passos (IPP) to discuss common challenges faced by both cities with Elias Jabbour, President of Instituto Pereira Passos (IPP).

15th Leaders in Urban Governance Programme, Tokyo

From 11 to 19 October 2025, as part of the 15th Leaders in Urban Governance Programme (LUGP) programme, senior Singapore Public Service officers visited Tokyo to examine the city's urban growth strategies, gaining insights into district revitalisation through transit-oriented renewal, seamless transport connectivity, tradition-based sustainability, and government-business partnerships.

Metropolis 40th Anniversary Seoul Congress, Seoul

From 29 September to 1 October 2025, CLC participated in both the Metropolis 40th Anniversary Seoul Congress and the Metropolis Global Cities Foresight Exercise: Shaping Future Cities.

27th Executive Development & Growth Exchange Programme, Melbourne

From 19 to 27 July 2025, as part of the 27th Executive Development & Growth Exchange Programme (EDGE) programme, young Singapore Public Service officers visited Melbourne to understand the city's approach to climate resilience and urban liveability, drawing lessons from their nature-based solutions, transit-oriented neighbourhoods, innovative housing models, and co-creation with private sector and community stakeholders.

World Cities Summit Mayors Forum 2025, Vienna

From 2 to 4 July 2025, LKYWCP Network members (Bilbao, Brisbane, Medellín, New York City, Seoul, Singapore, Vienna, and Yokohama) served as panellists at the LKYWCP Network Knowledge Forum, exploring how cities can build trust with citizens through inclusive and collaborative governance.

From 5 to 10 May 2025, at the invitation of Tokyo Metropolitan Government, CLC participated in the 3rd G-NETS Senior Officials Meeting and SusHi-Tech Tokyo 2025 and met with Tokyo Governor, Koike Yuriko.

Knowledge Exchange with Mexico City Senior Government Officials

From 13 to 18 October 2024, CLC met with the newly-minted 2024 LKYWCP Laureate Mexico City at the Mexico City Hall to initiate knowledge collaboration and joint initiatives under the LKYWCP Network.
